These works include:

  • line marking down the edge and centre line of the Mallee Highway from Ouyen to the South Australian Border
  • installing rumble strips along the Sunraysia Highway between Miners Rest and Avoca

Works will take place from 7am until 6pm from 7 March and are expected to be completed within a fortnight, weather permitting.

Crews will be progressively working along the routes and signs will be placed at the start and finish of the works area to notify all motorists to reduce their speed to 40km/h. Access to driveways and intersections may be restricted for a maximum of 20 minutes each day while the crews move past.

If you’re travelling through the area during works, keep an eye out for changes to traffic conditions, plan and allow up to 15 minutes extra travel time.

A second coat of line markings will be applied to the road approximately 28 days later, causing minimal delays.
