RRV North Eastern Regional Director Steve Bowmaker said these works were part of a $20 million investment by the Australian and Victorian governments, which will also upgrade the roundabout at the intersection of Doyles and Old Dookie roads.
“The roundabouts will be significantly increased in size, with a second traffic lane added to provide safer turning opportunities, improve traffic flow and increase freight efficiency,” Mr Bowmaker said.
“We’d like to thank the community for their patience while these vital works are undertaken.”
While the water mains are cut near Grahamvale and New Dookie roads this Saturday, 13 July, northbound and eastbound traffic will be detoured onto McGill Street.
Otherwise minimal traffic impacts are expected on the Shepparton Alternative Route prior to major construction in late August.
