This involves installing rumble strips down the centre of the road to alert drivers if they veer out of their lane – reducing the risk of head-on and run-off-road crashes.
Crews will be progressively installing the rumble strip line-marking on the following roads between 6am-7pm:
- Donald-Swan Hill Road between Swan Hill and Donald (4-16 December)
- The Mallee Highway between Ouyen and the South Australian border (5-20 December)
- Tooleybuc-Ouyen Road between Tooleybuc and Ouyen (8-12 December and 16-20 December)
Drivers must slow to 40km/h when travelling past the installation crews to ensure their safety, along with the safety of roadworkers and other road users.
Access for driveways and intersections may be restricted for a maximum of 20 minutes each day while the crews move past.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead if travelling on these roads and take care when travelling through the worksites.
If you need to report a hazard on our roads, contact 133 RRV (133 778).
