Our role is to provide each volunteer (over 1000 per year), with safety equipment including high visibility vests, gloves and workman ahead signs to ensure they are as safe as possible while working on the roadside.
Another great initiative run by KVB each year is the Tidy Town - Sustainable Communities 2019 Awards.
These Awards recognise and celebrate positive actions taken by communities to protect and enhance their local environments. They cover initiatives such as litter prevention, recycling, preserving heritage, community action and leadership, and environmental sustainable program.
This is an opportunity for communities to promote and receive recognition for all their efforts in making their town liveable, special and sustainable. The overall Tidy Town Sustainable Community of the Year will represent Victoria at the Keep Australia Beautiful Australian Tidy Town Awards.
Anyone can enter including individuals, community and service groups, committees, council staff, schools, environmental groups and sporting clubs, with over 10 award categories available to enter.
Entries close Friday, 14 June and the awards ceremony is being held in Dimboola on 26 October 2019. For more information visit the Keep Victoria Beautiful website.
