A $500,000 investment to deliver these critical road protection works near the intersection of Bunurong Road and Surf Parade. 

The rock wall is the latest step in the fight against coastal erosion in the Inverloch area, with several other initiatives delivered in recent years including a 70-metre-long wall of geotextile containers near the Inverloch Surf Life Saving Club, a ‘wet sand’ fencing trial and dune reconstruction.

A multi-agency working group led by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) will continue to work on both long and short-term coastal erosion management strategies in the area, including the development of a local coastal hazard assessment and community resilience planning.
