Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) is ramping up preparations to help protect the community ahead of the fire danger period.

A massive road maintenance blitz is getting underway across regional Victoria to give drivers safer, smoother and stronger roads.

From Sunday 6 – Wednesday 9 October, a 600 tonne superload will be travelling from the Port of Geelong to Mortlake in Western Victoria. The load will be travelling in stages – mainly at night to minimise disruptions.

Melbourne and Victoria are growing, and to keep people moving, we are expanding and modernising the transport network. From 21 September to 27 October, works on Melbourne’s metropolitan and regional train network to prepare the network for the Metro Tunnel are taking place.

As part of the McIvor Highway and Strathfieldsaye Road development projects, we’re working on a number of technical studies including traffic modelling and environmental assessments.
