We’re investigating this key section of the McIvor Highway from Reservoir Road, Strathdale to Longlea Lane, Longlea to plan for future growth, ensuring that all road users experience a safe and efficient drive, ride or walk.
McIvor Highway is a key route connecting Junortoun to Bendigo and Heathcote and is currently used by approximately 14,000 vehicles per day as well as active transport users (walkers and cyclists). The Victorian Government has provided $3.5 million to investigate options to increase capacity and safety for all road users.
Improvements to this road would:
- increase capacity
- increase safety particularly for overtaking and intersections
- provide active transport options for walking and cycling
- improve freight efficiency
- cater for future population growth
Have a say
We recently asked you to share your experiences on McIvor Highway via our interactive map. We also held two community drop-in sessions on 31 January and 12 February 2019.
You can review the summary report of our public and online engagement by selecting the links below.
Our interactive map was open for feedback from 9 January until midnight on 28 February 2019. You can still visit the map to see what people said.
We’re currently reviewing all the feedback we have received. Your feedback helps us identify key themes and issues that the community and road users face. We’re using this information to develop concepts to address capacity and safety issues along this busy highway.
We’ll be consulting with the community later this year to gather more feedback as we develop these concepts. To make sure you’re kept up to date on this project subscribe to our newsletter.
