Update - March 2020
Thank you to everyone who gave feedback on our draft concepts in late 2019. We’ve now analysed the feedback from the 460 completed surveys and community meetings.
You’ve told us the most important things are better traffic flow, safety for drivers and their passengers as well as pedestrians and cyclists to meet your needs now, and plan for the next 10, 20 to 30 years.
We’re pleased to share the Community and Stakeholder Engagement Report - March 2020 [PDF 2.5 Mb] or view the online version, that summarises the feedback we received.
Over the next few months, we’ll be refining the proposals to meet road and safety standards using this information to plan for Bendigo’s future.
We’re investigating issues along this section of the Calder Highway to plan for future growth and ensure that all road users experience a safe and efficient drive, ride or walk along Marong Road between Ironbark and Maiden Gully.
Improvements to this road will:
- increase capacity for all road users
- increase safety along the road and at intersections
- provide active transport options for walkers and cyclists
- improve freight efficiency.
Have a say
We conducted three public engagement sessions involving people sharing their experiences of travelling between Ironbark to Marong, and what they thought of our proposals.
You've told us about traffic flow, access and safety as well as pedestrian and cycling, and issues at intersections. You've also shared your solutions and ideas which help us develop plans to meet the needs of residents, businesses and all who use the road now and in the future.
You can view the summary or full report of the feedback received during both rounds of community consultation below.View 2018 summary online
We’ll refine the concepts and incorporate suggestions and ideas where appropriate and use this information as we plan for Bendigo’s future.
