Update

After conducting technical studies and community engagement in 2017-2018, we’ve developed concepts to show how traffic flow and safety could be improved on this corridor.

We recently asked your feedback on our future proposals. The surveys are now closed but you can still visit our interactive map to view these ideas.

Overview

We’re investigating issues along this section of the Calder Highway to plan for future growth and ensure that all road users experience a safe and efficient drive, ride or walk along Marong Road between Ironbark and Maiden Gully.

Benefits

Improvements to this road will:

  • increase capacity for all road users
  • increase safety along the road and at intersections
  • provide active transport options for walkers and cyclists
  • improve freight efficiency.

Have a say

To date we have conducted 3 public engagement sessions that involved people sharing their experiences of travelling between Ironbark to Marong, and what they thought of our proposals.

You've told us about traffic flow, access and safety as well as pedestrian and cycling, issues at intersections. You've also shared your solutions and ideas which help us develop plans to meet the needs of residents, businesses and all those that use the road in the future.

Our first round of online engagement was open from 4 December 2017 until 4 February 2018.

You can view the summary or full report of the feedback received during this first round of community consultation below

Next steps

We’ll refine the concepts and incorporate suggestions and ideas where appropriate for future funding consideration by government.

A final community feedback report will be available in the coming months.
