The Victorian Government has invested $124 million to fix more roads as part of its economic response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Victorian Government has invested $124 million to fix more roads as part of its economic response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This funding is part of a $328.4 million investment in critical transport maintenance with fast-tracked upgrades set to create or support more than 600 jobs.
$58 million will go into increased road maintenance and resurfacing providing safer roads and the better movement of freight.

Maintenance
We carry out regular maintenance on freeways, arterial roads and a limited number of non-arterial roads.
Improvements
Improvements are road projects that better connect communities, improve road safety and traffic flow.
Safety
Although all maintenance and improvements will improve road safety, safety projects address a specific safety concern.
Active travel
We want to encourage people to be active by building infrastructure that supports alternative modes of transport and travel.
