Update - January 2024

Thank you for your patience while we rebuilt sections of Birregurra-Forrest Road.

These improvements are part of the Victorian Government’s investment of $255 million into upgrading the Great Ocean Road and its inland routes over five years (2021 to 2025).

What we've done

To improve key sections of Birregurra-Forrest Road we:

  • rebuilt the road surface
  • improved drainage, including the installation of new culverts
  • installed new guard railing
  • trimmed vegetation.

Birregurra

We rebuilt 3.4 kilometres of Birregurra-Forrest Road in Birregurra between Birregurra-Deans Marsh Road and Cape Otway Road, and the section between Colac Otway Road and Colac-Lorne Road.
